Cassowary Coast Waterfalls & Culture Tour

Surrounded by tropical rainforest a popular setting for visitors, formed on the foothills of Queensland's highest mountain its flowing waters and swimming holes weaving around the large granite boulders creating this picture perfect location. Learn from your guide the amazing facts and dreamtime story of the infamous Devils Pools  and the cultural significance this area has to Aboriginal People.  Explore and learn about bush medicine and bush tucker, the array of flora and fauna significant to the wet tropics rainforest in this area. Continuing South your guide takes you on a scenic drive back in time through the art deco town of Innsifail, its amazing architecture and historical port on the banks of the Johnston River. Stopping at Etty Bay for the opportunity to see a Southern Cassowary or two taking a stroll along the white sands or resting under a shady tree.  Enjoy a relaxed lunch, while your guide shares interesting behavour facts and characteristics on the Cassowary, a great opportunity take some photos.  On our last stop  we make our way to WTWHA Wooroonooran National Park 900,000 ha of wet tropics rainforest between Cooktown and Townsville. Exploring a small section of the Wet Tropics within we discover Joesphine Falls on a guided walk learning the importance of biolgical diversity, evolutionary history and cultural significant to Aboriginal people. The track takes you on a  windy journey through one of Australia's most complex rainforest vines the mesophyll. This dense green rainforest attracts colourful birdlife, butterflies and wildlife with opportunites for you to spot along the way. Joesphine Creeks waters start on the East side of the summit of Queenslands Highest Mountain flowing approximately 7.5km tumbling over large granite boulders forming the pictuques Joesphine Falls.
